Overview

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide the financial support to assist men and women with various social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities, providing a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. Our efforts focus on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each team member contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and perform a wide variety of duties in the store and production area. The Sales and Production Associate will maintain order, create a pleasant work environment, and maintain customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Assist, as required, with store operations.
• Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle all donations with care and treat donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, maintaining proper categories and colorization.
• Ensure that the store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”
• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management immediately.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
• Comply with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• This position supports the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.

• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
