The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people\'s lives. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This position is a Sales and Production Associate for a production store, responsible for a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. The role includes maintaining order, creating and sustaining a pleasant and hospitable work environment, and maintaining customer relationships. The base pay range is $8.00/hr - $8.00/hr.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Assist, as required, with store operations.
• Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
• Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.
• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.
• Be well-versed in and comply with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• Support the work therapy program component by providing beneficiaries with professional conduct, work habits, and supervision as directed by Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.
• Cashier/Sales Floor operations: comply with cash handling and security standards; manage daily sales reports and bank deposits.
• Sort, price, stock and display merchandise; restock and organize by department.
• Maintain and update merchandise displays; ensure proper tagging and pricing.
• Answer telephone calls in a courteous, professional manner.
• Assist with moving donations and clothing racks as needed; hang and ticket merchandise; ensure proper hanger type and category.
• Price a minimum of 250 garments per hour and maintain knowledge of name-brand merchandise and value.
• Place a minimum of 225 garments per hour from the production room to the sales floor; ensure proper rack, department, and color order.
• Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Sort and clean all donation categories (Bric a Brac, Shoes/Accessories, Domestics, Books/Records/Toys, Furniture/Electrical, Donations/Maintenance) and ticket items with fair market prices.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, donation facilities, and related areas; lift up to 100 pounds as required.
• Follow safety policies and report unsafe conditions to management.
