The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with social and spiritual challenges. Our in-residence rehabilitation program offers basic necessities, including a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Our focus is on developing life skills and fostering a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Each team member contributes to recycling goods that help repair broken lives.
The Salvation Army ARC is seeking a Production Store Manager who will create a welcoming work environment and foster excellent customer and donor relationships to motivate staff and achieve sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Create a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer and donor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Centers Operations manual and all policies and procedures, including issuing warnings when necessary.
- Meet sales, production, and expense goals to ensure profitability.
- Manage the display of merchandise from the production area to the sales floor.
- Participate in hiring processes, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews, then recommend candidates to the appropriate supervisor.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend training for staff as needed.
- Hold monthly staff and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Schedule staff to ensure full coverage, including posting weekly work schedules with assignments, breaks, and vacations.
- Process payroll biweekly, including signatures, absenteeism, and overtime.
- Order merchandise to maintain stock levels, ensuring compliance with the Rag Out Calendar.
- Provide training and supervision to new and existing employees and unpaid staff.
- Manage cash receipts and banking procedures, safeguarding funds at all times.
- Complete and submit sales reports and paperwork to the finance department daily.
- Report site visits and communications from OSHA, CPSC, and local inspectors, verifying credentials.
- Participate in manager and production meetings, communicating policies and updates to staff.
- Protect property and report hazards or damages.
- Oversee work therapy programs, providing guidance and supervision to beneficiaries.
- Supervise Warehouse Coordinator in areas with truck and bailing operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Supervisor or Administrator.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in sales preferred.
- Ability to lead, manage, and motivate others.
- Ability to interpret income and expense reports.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work at any store location under the supervision of this ARC Center.
