The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Our in-residence rehabilitation program offers a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance, focusing on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Each team member contributes to recycling goods that help repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete driving routes for pickups and drops of donations at the warehouse, donation boxes, and donor homes.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the security and safe operation of the vehicle and report any accidents or damages immediately.
2. Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report issues.
3. Keep the truck clean and organized.
4. Plan daily routes and make scheduled calls.
5. Develop and follow assigned routes, including proper bagging or carding.
6. Represent The Salvation Army courteously to customers and donors, following the 'Manual for Production Assistants'.
7. Maintain a professional appearance and accurate records such as delivery manifests and trip logs.
8. Load and unload the truck carefully, ensuring goods are secured and undamaged.
9. Assist Thrift Store personnel with deliveries and proper placement of items.
10. Supervise and instruct the Truck Helper, promoting good habits and professionalism.
11. Support the work therapy program by demonstrating professional conduct and supervision.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.

Qualifications

1. Effective communication skills.
2. Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record and passing a driving test.
3. Ability to lift 100 lbs.
4. Ability to read maps, plan routes, and use GPS devices including iPads.
5. Excellent customer service skills.
6. Medical card and passing a DOT Physical may be required depending on location.
