Job summary

Arcadis is hiring a Mid-Level Arborist to support NYC Parks projects across New York City. The role focuses on preserving the urban forest, guiding Level 2 tree preservation work, and integrating biodiversity objectives. The position requires field work, mentorship of junior arborists, and collaboration with city agencies.

You will document site conditions, monitor contractor performance, and participate in field meetings to discuss progress and safety. Access to a personal vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Forest Biology or Environmental Resources Engineering or closely related field.
• ISA Arborist Certification; or NJ LTE; or ASCA.
• 2–5 years of practical experience in tree protection, pruning, installation and establishment.

Responsibilities

• Daily reporting and documentation of site activities and tree health.
• Stakeholder engagement with residents, contractors, and City agencies.
• Technical oversight of contractor compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Identify native and invasive species and contribute to biodiversity management.
• Lead field meetings and provide guidance to junior staff.
