What you’ll do as a Trimmer Trainee at Lewis:

• Participate in an innovative climbing skills training program
• Work in a team environment as part of a tight-knit crew
• Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties for utility customers, including pruning and removing trees and limbs, and clearing debris from wires and roofs
• Climb trees for manual trimming and removals near power lines
• Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
• Remove limbs and brush, and dispose of debris
• Apply spray chemicals to preserve vegetation
• Enforce safety practices to safeguard employees and the public

What you’ll need:

• At least six months of experience as a ground crew member or similar, working around utility wires
• Ability to perform physical labor, lifting at least 50 lbs
• Capability to operate two-handed equipment and endure extreme climate conditions
• Willingness to obtain necessary training and certifications, including tree identification and licensing
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
• Pass pre-employment drug and skills tests
• Valid Driver’s License
