Position Overview

Climbing Arborist

Trim and remove trees, eliminate unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs, and enhance the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Climbing Arborist to our passionate team of landscape professionals. Your office is outdoors, offering a new view every day!

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems (height depends on your skill and comfort).
• Work as an active crew member supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients, including:
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Removing hazardous trees.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or experience working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• A love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law (preferred).
