Job description

Location: White Plains, NY
Salary: $76,000-$115,000

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

This position will utilize your technical knowledge and experience to help guide the City’s tree preservation and street tree programs. As you grow with Arcadis, you will become involved with other NYC Parks’ programs, and with other City agencies, all with a focus on the City’s urban forest and other natural systems such as the Staten Island Bluebelt and park restoration projects.

Leadership:

In this supervisory role, you will participate in weekly supervisor meetings and routinely correspond with direct reports providing them mentorship and leadership. This will require providing supervisor updates to senior leadership in reference to pursuits, field visits, and team activities. You will be expected to act as an ambassador for the City’s urban forest resource during interaction with the City’s residents and landowners.

Health and Safety:

Monitor health and safety concerns and point systems. This includes administering all health and safety procedures as required by the owner and as detailed in the manual.

Construction Management:

You will use your experience to monitor construction on a daily basis for overall site safety, permit condition compliance, and coordination with other City Agencies; this includes monitoring contractor’s adherence to technical requirements and overall responsiveness and effectiveness.

  • Maintain daily records and review the daily reports of other inspection personnel, providing feedback and advice for improvement.
  • Hold and attend field meetings with both contractor and owner to discuss progress, schedule, and work remaining.
Administrative:

Manage timecards and hours of team members. The individual in this role will need to have strong organizational skills needed for outlook, teams, and site leadership. You will also need to use the City’s Forms program as required for the assignment—entering data using tablets and populating contract line items.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Must have valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience and 2 years leadership experience.
  • Proficient at leadership in the environmental field along with understanding OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • ISA TRAQ preferred.
