The Davey Tree Expert Company in Norwalk, CT is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship beginning Spring-Summer 2027. This field-based opportunity provides hands-on learning, working alongside experienced Arborists, Climbers and Plant Health Care technicians to deliver exceptional client service and maintain healthy trees and landscapes.

Interns will gain exposure to pruning, installation, PPE, and deep root fertilization while learning daily operations and business components of a Residential

Qualifications

Must study Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license a plus.
Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
Love of the Outdoors!
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Learn to be a tree doctor; work in the field with Arborists and technicians to deliver client service.
Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance, landscape installation, and equipment operation.
Plant Health Care activities and pest/disease management.
Support daily operations and business components of a Residential Tree Care office.
Develop client service, sales, management and leadership fundamentals.
