What you’ll do as a Ground person at Lewis:

  • Participate in an innovative climbing skills training program!
  • Work in a team environment as part of a tight-knit crew.
  • Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, trimming, and removing trees, as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, etc.
  • Climb trees for manual trimming and removals in and above power lines.
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
  • Remove limbs and brush, and dispose of debris.
  • Apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation.
  • Ensure safety by safeguarding employees and the public, and help enforce safety practices.

What you’ll need:

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting at least 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.
  • Capability to operate two-handed equipment (chainsaws, circular saws, etc.) and endure extreme climate conditions.
  • Willingness to obtain specialized training and certifications, such as tree species identification and licenses.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Pass pre-employment background checks, drug tests, and skills assessments.
  • Ability to obtain a Driver’s License.
