Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Sonoma, CA, is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a tree care crew, perform services safely, and improve crew performance. The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on arboriculture, and delivering high-quality work in outdoor environments.

You will prune, cabling and bracing, rigging, removals, and operate equipment while upholding safety standards. A CDL–preferred driver’s license and a proactive, team-driven attitude are valued.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver’s license; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Driven, proactive, team-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of arboriculture work with safety first.
• Perform pruning, cabling and bracing, rigging, and removals.
• Safely operate hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Coordinate with Arborist Representative and Local Manager to train crew members.
• Communicate with clients and maintain professional relationships.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
• Pruning
• Cabling and bracing
• Rigging
• Removals
• Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver\'s license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
