Bartlett Tree Experts in San Diego, CA seeks an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a tree-care crew in performing all services safely and efficiently. The role emphasizes hands-on arboriculture, crew supervision, and client communication.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years climbing (DdRT/SRT) and aerial lift experience, with a preference for a Class B CDL. Expect a safety-first, growth-oriented workplace with strong pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least three years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Proactive, team-oriented and self-motivated attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform and supervise all aspects of arboriculture (pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, removals).
• Properly maintain and operate equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Supervise and manage crews under Arborist Representative guidance.
• Ensure crew training for designated jobs and adherence to standards.
• Communicate with clients and build relationships on site.
• Foster a cooperative and enthusiastic job-site environment.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including

  • Rigging

  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
