Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Pleasant Hill, CA is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a tree care crew and perform arboriculture tasks safely and efficiently. You will lead field work, supervise crew members, and ensure high-quality workmanship on pruning, removal, rigging, and equipment operation.

The role requires at least three years of climbing experience (DdRT or SRT), a valid driver's license, and a passion for outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Excellent safety awareness and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform and supervise pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, and removals.
• Maintain and operate equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Supervise crews and ensure proper on-site training and safety standards.
• Communicate with clients and build relationships.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
