What you'll do as a Crew Foreperson at Lewis:
  • Lead a tight-knit crew, creating and promoting a positive team environment
  • Interpret tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders initiated by General Foreman or customer representative
  • Plan and layout daily work considering time, clean-up, equipment, weather, and permissions
  • Perform a Pre-Job Hazard Survey with crew members and assign work based on skills and abilities
  • Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, removal, and debris cleanup
  • Climb trees and operate bucket trucks for trimming and removals near power lines
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards and enforce safety practices
What you'll need:
  • Two or more years of experience as a Trimmer/Climber working around utility lines
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of trees, arboriculture techniques, and working near energized conductors
  • Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
  • Understanding of electrical drawings and symbols
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform strenuous labor
  • Valid driver's license, CDL, and/or medical certificate
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Pass pre-employment drug, background, and skills tests
