What you'll do as a Crew Foreperson at Lewis:
- Lead a tight-knit crew, creating and promoting a positive team environment
- Interpret tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders initiated by General Foreman or customer representative
- Plan and layout daily work considering time, clean-up, equipment, weather, and permissions
- Perform a Pre-Job Hazard Survey with crew members and assign work based on skills and abilities
- Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, removal, and debris cleanup
- Climb trees and operate bucket trucks for trimming and removals near power lines
- Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards and enforce safety practices
What you'll need:
- Two or more years of experience as a Trimmer/Climber working around utility lines
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of trees, arboriculture techniques, and working near energized conductors
- Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
- Understanding of electrical drawings and symbols
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform strenuous labor
- Valid driver's license, CDL, and/or medical certificate
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
- Pass pre-employment drug, background, and skills tests
