Callaway Resort & Gardens is seeking a grounds professional to inspect and tend trees across its 2,500-acre resort landscape in Pine Mountain, GA. The role emphasizes pruning, planting, and the safe use of chainsaws and related equipment to maintain healthy canopies and appealing grounds.

Candidates should have 2+ years in tree removal and maintenance, be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and contribute to a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in tree removals, pruning, planting and operation of chainsaws and related tools

• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess tree health, structure, and safety risks
• Prune, trim, and shape tree canopies to promote healthy growth and eliminate deadwood
• Safely remove hazardous, dead, or unwanted trees
• Plant trees, perennials and other plants
• Install mulch and pine straw
• Safe and proper operation of chainsaws, pole saws, brush cutters, string trimmers, mowers, tractors and aerial lifts
• Other duties as assigned
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Working at heights in aerial lifts

• Safe and proper operation of chainsaws, pole saws, brush cutters, string trimmers, mowers, tractors and aerial lifts

• Other duties as assigned

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and proper operation of equipment

• Proper PPE is required at all times

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• 2 + years' experience in tree removals, pruning, planting and operation of chainsaws, and other pruning tools

• Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to work within a team environment

Skills & Requirements:

• Long hours are sometimes required.

• Ability to work in all environmental conditions, cold weather, hot weather, rain, snow, and other weather conditions

• Working at heights in aerial lifts

• Proficiency using chainsaws and other related equipment

• Exerting up to 50 + pounds of force occasionally, and /or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.

• Ability to stand for long hours at a time.
