Job summary

Callaway Resort & Gardens is seeking a tree care professional to maintain and improve the health and safety of our extensive grounds. Responsibilities include pruning, planting, removal of hazardous trees, and operating various outdoor tools in all weather conditions.

The role requires teamwork, physical stamina, and the ability to work at heights with chainsaws and related equipment. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment and values safety and quality

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in tree removals, pruning, planting and operation of chainsaws and other pruning tools.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess tree health, structure, and safety risks
• Prune, trim, and shape tree canopies to promote healthy growth and eliminate deadwood
• Safely remove hazardous, dead, or unwanted trees
• Plant trees, perennials and other plants
• Install mulch and pine straw
• Safe and proper operation of chainsaws, pole saws, brush cutters, string trimmers, mowers, tractors and aerial lifts
• Other duties as assigned

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and proper operation of equipment
• Proper PPE is required at all times

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• 2 + years' experience in tree removals, pruning, planting and operation of chainsaws, and other pruning tools
• Ability to work within a team environment

Skills & Requirements:

• Long hours are sometimes required.
• Ability to work in all environmental conditions, cold weather, hot weather, rain, snow, and other weather conditions
• Working at heights in aerial lifts
• Proficiency using chainsaws and other related equipment
• Exerting up to 50 + pounds of force occasionally, and /or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pullingor otherwise moving objects.
• Ability to stand for long hours at a time.
