Job summary

Verathon Inc. in Alabama is seeking a dedicated production associate to follow work orders, assemble components, and ensure customer specifications are met with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

You will perform inspections, manage inventory, and participate in TPM while maintaining a clean, organized work area and complying with PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Must be able to undergo post-offer medical screening as required.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and processes work orders using keyboard or scanner to verify accuracy against production software.
  • Compares packed assemblies to work order details to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Maintains quality and production standards by staying up to date on communications, training, and documentation.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area in accordance with procedures; reports issues to supervisor.
  • Adheres to PPE guidelines and safety rules by attending training and reviewing safety bulletins.
  • References standard work instructions and understands special instructions for tasks.
  • Selects parts and performs checks to detect defective materials.
  • Assembles components (gears, glass lens, gaskets, lower plates) following instructions.
  • Maintains annual ESD certification through company-provided training.
  • Keeps inventories aligned with order requirements to maintain productivity.
  • Makes machine adjustments to compensate for parts variation and to facilitate startups.
  • Participates in physical inventory and verifications of counts.
  • Performs visual inspections and packing to ensure item and quantity match orders.
  • Follows TPM procedures and reports any issues to supervisor.
  • Attaches ESD devices to wrists to protect sensitive electronics.
  • Takes corrective actions on defective materials via re-work or discard.
  • Enters part numbers and order numbers into automation UI to display machine operations.

Job description

Objectives:
The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and undergo a post-offer screening for pre-existing medical conditions or injuries performed by an appropriately certified medical service provider. Must meet the WorkKeys minimum score requirement in the following areas to be eligible. 3- Applied Math, 3- Workplace Documents, 3- Graphic Literacy.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Interprets and processes work order information using a keyboard or hand scanner in order to verify work order matches by looking at monitors and registers to ensure work order matches production software.
  • Compares packed assemblies to work order details to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Maintains company quality and performance standards by staying up to date on all company communications, training, and documentation.
  • Maintains the work area by following company procedures regarding cleanliness and being orderly, and reports questionable conditions to the supervisor.
  • Monitors and observes company safety rules and regulations by attending company training, reviewing safety bulletins, and adhering to all PPE guidelines
  • Refers to standard work instructions to determine the steps required to complete tasks and to look up and understand special instructions
  • Selects parts and utilizes necessary checks to detect defective materials.
  • Assembles component parts, such as gears and glass lens, gaskets, lower plates, by selecting correct parts and following work instructions.
  • Maintains annual ESD (Electrostatic Discharge Control) Certification by participating in company-provided training and certifying processes.
  • Maintains necessary parts levels in process to ensure productivity by comparing inventory levels to the requirements of orders to be filled.
  • Makes machine adjustments to compensate for parts variation and to facilitate machine startups to meet order requirements.
  • Participates in physical inventory through counting parts and assemblies, and verifying accuracy of automated counting devices.
  • Performs operations involving visual inspection and packing of assembled units for shipment to ensure item and quantity matches the customer order.
  • Performs TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) by following company procedures, and reports questionable conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Protects sensitive electronics from static discharge by attaching ESD device to wrist.
  • Takes corrective action on defective materials by either performing a re-work or discarding the materials.
  • Enters part numbers and customer order number information at automation user interface to display information on machine operation screens.
  • Inspects products during production utilizing gauges and/or visual to ensure gauges are at zero and components match the requirements of the work order and report questionable conditions to engineers, technicians, or supervisors
