Furqaan Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Arabic Teaching Assistant (TA) to support teachers and students in the classroom. Job Description
The Arabic Teaching Assistant will support the classroom teacher in providing effective instruction and assisting students with their academic and classroom needs. The TA will help reinforce Arabic language instruction, support classroom activities, and provide individualized assistance to students as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with Arabic language lessons, classroom activities, and instructional materials.
- Provide individual and small-group support to students who need additional assistance.
- Reinforce Arabic vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills as directed by the teacher.
- Help prepare lesson materials, classroom activities, worksheets, and learning resources.
- Support students during classroom activities and ensure they remain engaged and on task.
- Help maintain a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and reinforce established classroom expectations.
- Monitor student behavior and communicate concerns to the lead teacher or administration.
- Assist with student supervision during transitions, activities, and other school-related periods.
- Support the teacher in maintaining accurate student attendance and other classroom records.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, students, and parents/guardians when appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and overall classroom success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other school-related activities as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in their care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Arabic, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education or relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational environment is preferred.
- Previous teaching or classroom experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, dependable, professional, and enthusiastic when working with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school administration.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a local criminal history check and fingerprint-based background check.
