Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have HS/GED; knowledge of coding, AR, and insurance reimbursement.
• Three years insurance/billing experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-certify patients for visits, testing, and procedures per insurer requirements by monitoring schedules in the billing system.
• Follow insurer pre-certification requirements for approval (calling, faxing, emailing, logging in to systems, etc.).
• Assist accounts receivable, coding, registration, and insurance follow-up staff as needed.
• Review pre-cert requirements for insurance companies and keep knowledge up-to-date.
• Notify staff on status of approvals/denials and forward denials for review.
