Job description

As the AR Follow Up Representative,

3. Onsite Day: Wednesday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)

A day in the role includes:

1. Timely resolution of patient accounts, including researching account balances and following up with collection calls to insurers and parents.
2. Reviewing claims with no response and resolving denied or underpaid claims, including filing appeals as necessary.
3. Documenting all collection activity accurately in the patient accounting system and identifying trends for resolution.
4. Working independently or as part of a team, with potential assignment to hospital, professional, or home care claims.
5. Submitting timely, accurate claims to insurance carriers using current technology and following payor guidelines.
6. Resolving patient insurance balances by analyzing denials and understanding payer requirements.
7. Utilizing payer portals, remits, and calls to understand and resolve denials.
8. Performing adjustments as needed and escalating trends to management.
9. Reviewing data sets such as CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and payer rules.
10. Prioritizing work based on department needs and leadership guidance.
11. Routing accounts to relevant departments to address denials and advising on contractual issues.

Necessary Skills and Strengths include: AR Follow-Up, Insurance Authorizations, ICD-10, CPT Codes, Medical Billing, Denials Follow-Up

Core Experience required:

1. 2-5 years of AR Follow Up experience
2. Experience with EPIC
3. Working with Denials and Claims Appeals
4. Experience with Home Health Claims is a plus

Pay and Benefits: The pay range is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, employee assistance, PTO, and sick leave, subject to eligibility and plan specifics.
