Job description

Description

Performs a wide range of building and grounds repair, lawn maintenance, custodial, and aquatic operations. Maintains pool filtration systems and keeps records on all repairs and operations.

  1. Clean and maintain the Amherst HealthPlex facilities and grounds, including swimming pools, splash pad, locker rooms, family changing rooms, meeting/party rooms, exercise areas, front office, concession, playground, etc. Performs custodial tasks such as trash pickup and pool vacuuming.
  2. Perform landscaping maintenance: mowing, mulching, planting, watering, fertilizing, spraying, and pruning.
  3. Repair and paint furniture and equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment like mowers, trimmers, pool vacuums, and chemical controllers. Operate vehicles and tools including trucks, ground maintenance equipment, and hand tools.
  4. Maintain facility and equipment: inspect, repair pumps, filters, motors, HVAC units, and perform backwashing, basket cleaning, chemical line changes, and work with chlorine and acids.
  5. Assist with water-quality testing and chemical balancing as requested.
  6. Schedule and assign work, report progress, and purchase supplies following guidelines.
  7. Participate in pre-season orientation, staff meetings, and training. Hold and maintain CPO/AFO certification. Respond to emergencies using AED and radios.
  8. Educate patrons on safety rules and regulations. Communicate effectively with staff and customers.
  9. Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

RATE OF PAY: $22.63 per hour
