Job summary

Carowinds is seeking a Maintenance Associate to support waterpark and campground pools, performing general upkeep and ensuring water quality. You will operate filters, test water, and maintain cleanliness in guest areas.

The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and collaboration with team members. This position demands availability at nights, weekends, and holidays, plus a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background and drug checks.

Qualifications

• Able to supply and use general maintenance tools as part of daily tasks.
• Demonstrates general mechanical knowledge applicable to upkeep work.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holiday periods as required.
• Must be able to pass a mandatory or random drug test per policy.
• Background check may be required for 18+ years old per policy.
• Possesses a valid Driver's License.

• Maintain water quality in Waterpark and Campground pool.
• Operate wash and rapid sand filters and test pool water.
• Monitor and adjust chlorine and pH levels per guidelines.
• Sweep and clean pool areas and store equipment properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned areas per policy.
• Meet scheduling availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to park rules and policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Assist with plumbing maintenance. Responsible for pool cleanliness, water quality in Waterpark and the Campground pool.

• Operate wash and rapid sand filters.
• Test pool water and maintain records.
• Control the free, total, combined chlorine level and pH using appropriate chemicals.
• Sweeps and cleans pool areas (to include grates in the pool) throughout the facility using broom, mop, brush, vacuum, squeegee or hand, stores equipment and supplies in proper place.
• Monitors and takes action to ensure attraction, location and back area cleanliness.
• Clean "kiddy play" structures to remove oxidation and maintain the appearance of these structures.
• Swim in depths of 4' to 8' to clean sides and bottom of pool areas.
• Move pumps from storage area to work location.
• Scrub pool tile to remove scum and build up.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Six Flags Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Meets Six Flag's attendance requirements as outlined in Six Flag's attendance policies.
• Adheres to Six Flag's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
