Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking part-time Swim Instructors and Lifeguards for Recreational Sports to support campus pools and programs for students, staff, and community members. Roles emphasize safety, leadership, and customer service in an active, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Swim instructors must be American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certified or willing to certify within 90 days of hire.
• Lifeguards must have ARC Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED certifications at date of hire.
• Requires at least 15 years of age at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Swim Instructors guide swimmers of all ages to learn safely and confidently.
• Plan lessons, prepare plans, and maintain records; ensure session safety.
• Lifeguards monitor pool areas, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies; support daily operations.
