Job summary

Life Time is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to teach swimming and life skills to members of all ages. You will evaluate swim levels, maintain facility cleanliness and assist with Aquatics events. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and program promotion.

The position requires completing Life Time courses on hire, ability to work in a club environment, and swimming ability of 25 yards/meters. Certifications such as StarGuard Elite and CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass Life Time courses upon hire.
• Able to stand and move around the club for extended periods.
• Able to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Able to bend to lift up to 20 lbs regularly.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid certifications (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

++Position Summary++

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

++Minimum Required Qualifications++

Education:

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience:

• Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire


• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time


• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services


• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping


• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $18.25 and pays up to $22.75, based on experience and qualifications.
