Job summary

YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Specialist in Doylestown, PA. This full-time, hourly position offers a path to develop communication, leadership and responsibility while fostering a safe, engaging pool environment for participants of all ages.

Responsibilities include lifeguard coverage, supervising pool activities, teaching swim lessons and delivering excellent customer service. 18+ required; HS diploma preferred; valid lifeguard cert or ability to obtain; 1+ year experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ years of experience in pool management or aquatics administration preferred
• 1+ years of experience teaching swim lessons preferred
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire (training provided)

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and active supervision of all pool participants by maintaining a secure and welcoming aquatic environment
• Provide professional lifeguard coverage, continuously monitoring the pool area and responding promptly and effectively to emergencies
• Teach group and private swim lessons, emphasizing water safety, skill development, confidence-building, and individualized instruction
• Deliver exceptional customer service to participants, families, and community members
• Monitor pool operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Assist with the daily operation, organization, and administration of aquatic programs and activities
• Support the overall success of the aquatics program through teamwork, professionalism, and a commitment to participant safety and engagement
