Job summary

Elk Grove Park District is seeking an experienced Aquatics Operations Manager to lead budgets and programs for Pavilion Aquatics Center, Rainbow Falls Waterpark, and related facilities.

The role includes supervising staff, ensuring safety standards, coordinating staff training (CPR/First Aid, lifeguard instruction), and developing policy and program manuals. Bachelor’s in recreation or facility management preferred and Illinois driver’s license required.

• Lifeguard Instructor Certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 6 months.
• Valid Illinois Drivers License.
• Must have AFO certification or ability to obtain certification within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational, programming, managerial and risk management processes for the aquatics department.
• Prepare and maintain aquatics budgets for multiple facilities.
• Supervise two FT Aquatics Supervisors.
• Recruit, train and certify lifeguards and swim lesson instructors.
• Manage payroll and staff documentation for the aquatics department.
• Develop and maintain manuals for staff and patrons procedures.
• Coordinate with the Rentals Manager on aquatic rentals.
• Develop reports and recommendations for program improvements.
