Job Description
The Aquatic Manager contributes to the Y’s success by developing and sustaining an environment that supports our mission, values, and guiding principles. The primary responsibilities include selecting, leading, and developing aquatics staff, evaluating the participant experience, managing programs and schedules, and driving membership growth and program participation. The Aquatic Manager may also conduct classes and/or work as a Lifeguard as needed.
Impact: Foster an environment supporting our mission, values, and principles while leading efforts to increase membership and program participation. Lead program implementation, supervise staff, and promote engaging, safe aquatic programming focused on water safety, healthy living, and aquatic passion.
Safety & Risk Management: Ensure safety protocols are followed, conduct screenings, supervise staff, and respond to emergencies. Maintain safety standards and proper facility maintenance.
Leadership & Inclusion: Provide staff development, foster an inclusive environment, and champion diversity initiatives.
Communication & Community Engagement: Effectively communicate with participants, parents, and staff. Cultivate community relationships and support philanthropic efforts.
Ability to stand or walk for long periods and perform physical activities; lift up to 50 lbs.
