Job summary

Life Time Inc. is seeking an Aquatics Lifeguard to help ensure safe pool environments at our Gilbert club. You will monitor indoor and outdoor pools, assist guests, and support aquatics events while upholding high safety standards.

The role requires staying vigilant, providing first aid when needed, and maintaining clean pool areas. Certification in StarGuard Elite Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid is required, along with high school diploma or GED and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Greets and interacts with Members.
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid.
• Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities.
• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members.

Responsibilities

• Greet Members and assist with inquiries to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Monitor pool areas and enforce safety rules; perform rescues and give first aid as needed.
• Promote water safety and alert guests to potentially dangerous conditions or activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool deck and surrounding areas to uphold club safety standards.

You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza."

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with Members
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid
• Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities
• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members

Position Requirements

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first)
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months of customer service experience
