The Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division of the M-NCPPC is seeking an Aquatics Facility Manager for The Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center. This position will report to the Senior Aquatics Facility Manager. Our ideal candidate will provide facility management, programmatic, and supervisory support. This includes monitoring and assisting with the oversight of day-to-day operations of a year-round high-volume facility with competitive and leisure programming, as well as a seasonal outdoor pool.

Salary: $56,358.00 - $99,814.00 Annually


The hiring range for this position will be $56,358.00 to midpoint of the advertised salary range and will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

  • Year-Round & Seasonal Aquatic Facility Management
  • Supervise and train seasonal/intermittent employees
  • Assist with the development of programs, maintenance, and operational procedures for assigned facilities
  • Coordinate general/seasonal maintenance for assigned facilities
  • Coordinate in-service training and safety auditing program for assigned facilities
  • Coordinate lifeguarding/CPR/pool operator/instructor certifications and classes
  • Assist in the process to pay bills/invoices
  • Assist with budget control and management
  • Oversee swim lesson program coordination for assigned facilities
  • Communicates with various cross-functional teams within assigned complex and in other divisions to properly administer various aquatics-related programs and procedures
  • Assist with office administration and organization
  • Assist with preparing quarterly/annual budget projections
  • Provides guidance to reporting staff on employee-related matters (i.e. disciplinary, training, recruitment and selection, etc.)
  • Research and evaluate internal and external aquatic programming, utilizing this information to develop new initiatives or to restructure current programs
  • Community outreach, marketing & program development targeting youth and teen programs and special events
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Participate and perform Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities on a monthly basis.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned to include oversight of recreational programming as well as seasonal summer camps.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED and First Aid
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • American Red Cross Instructor and/or Instructor Trainer Certification, a plus
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, Facility Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or any related field.
  2. One (1) year of responsible professional aquatic facility experience.
  3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total five (5) years.
  4. Valid driver’s license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of the position.
  5. Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions in this class may require: (a) valid operating license (e.g., county pool operator) as appropriate; (b) First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications; or (c) basic and/or instructor level certifications as related to assignment (e.g., Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Pool Operator).
