EnviroScience, Inc. is a provider of environmental consulting services with over 160 employees. We develop solutions for environmental, infrastructure, and regulatory needs. We are seeking a full-time Biologist in Brentwood, Tennessee, responsible for aquatic surveys, wetland and stream delineation, and threatened and endangered species projects. Responsibilities include field surveys, technical reporting, water quality monitoring, habitat assessments, and client guidance through permitting processes. The role involves fieldwork, laboratory tasks, data management, and supporting proposal and report writing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys for wetlands, streams, fish, and macroinvertebrates using various sampling methods.
  • Delineate wetland and stream boundaries and classify quality.
  • Monitor water quality and evaluate stream habitats.
  • Perform habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species.
  • Utilize GPS and GIS tools for mapping site conditions.
  • Assist in permitting, project planning, and client communication.

This position is primarily field-based (75-100%) and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, often in remote locations. Workdays may be 8-12 hours, with potential overnight travel and weekend work. The role is hybrid, involving both fieldwork and office tasks in Brentwood, TN, with some remote work possible upon approval.

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in a natural science field.
  • Minimum 2 years of ecology or natural resource consulting experience.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Experience with aquatic surveys, wetland delineation, water quality, and habitat assessments.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, GIS, and GPS tools.
  • Experience with on-water work, boat operations, and in-water assessments.
  • Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with TN MS4 permitting and hydrologic determinations.
  • Certifications such as TDEC macroinvertebrate collection, TN-QHP, and wetland delineation training are preferred.
