Job summary

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA is seeking a Life Support Laboratory Technician to oversee the overall operation of the Life Support Laboratory, including staffing, inventory control, water chemistry, quality control, and adherence to governmental and safety policies.

You will operate and maintain related equipment and chemical processes, assist in annual budget preparation, and oversee purchasing of lab materials.

Qualifications

Must have working knowledge of water chemistry across marine mammal, fish and avian systems.
Ability to work in all weather, indoors and outdoors.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

Oversee safe and efficient operation of the Life Support Laboratory.
Operate and maintain all related equipment and chemical processes.
Assist in budget preparation under Life Support Supervisor guidance.
Oversee purchasing of new materials and supplies for the Laboratory.
Communicate testing results to Attending Veterinarian Team and Management via the OERCA Animal Welfare Application.
Communicate results to Life Support Team for real-time adjustments.
Enforce safety policies and interface with regulatory agencies as needed.
Ensure facilities comply with regulatory and accrediting standards.
