The YMCA of Greater Toledo seeks an Aquatic Coordinator for Fort Meigs YMCA in Perrysburg. You will lead lifeguards and swim instructors, schedule programs, and ensure safe, engaging experiences for swimmers of all ages.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old and have a high school diploma.
• Certified Lifeguard with current CPR, First Aid, AED and O2 certificates.
• Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and ability to make independent decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking and reporting.
• Experience coordinating staff, lifeguards and swim instructors, plus payroll duties.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors.
• Fill in for absent staff and arrange substitutes to maintain safety.
• Conduct lifeguard in-services and trainings for the team.
• Hire, coach, and discipline staff in collaboration with the Aquatic Director.
• Perform weekly safety checks and assist with pool schedules and program communications.
• Develop and implement Aquatics program communications and marketing strategies.

Make a difference as an Aquatic Coordinator

As the Aquatic Coordinator at the Fort Meigs YMCA, you'll be the energetic leader responsible for scheduling and supervising lifeguards and swim instructors, ensuring our aquatic programs run smoothly. What we're looking for in an Aquatic Coordinator

To thrive as the Aquatic Coordinator at the Y, you must bring a blend of essential skills and certifications to the table. A minimum age of 21, along with a high school diploma, is required. Your certified lifeguard status, complete with up-to-date CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications, will ensure the safety of our aquatic patrons. Demonstrating initiative and good judgment is crucial, as is your ability to make independent decisions in a dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key for public speaking engagements and preparing detailed reports.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Must be 21 years old
• High school graduate
• Certified Lifeguard with current CPR, First Aid, AED and O2 certificates or the ability to attain certifications in 60 days.
• Demonstrate proven ability to display initiative, good judgment and ability to make decisions independently.
• Able to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and the ability to prepare reports and conduct in-service programs.
