As the Aquatic Coordinator at the Fort Meigs YMCA, you'll be the energetic leader responsible for scheduling and supervising lifeguards and swim instructors, ensuring our aquatic programs run smoothly. Join us in filling in for absent staff when needed and help secure substitutes to maintain a safe environment for our community. You'll also assist in conducting lifeguard in-services and trainings, equipping our team with the skills to excel. Collaborating with the Aquatic Director, you'll play a vital role in hiring, coaching, and disciplining staff, while performing weekly safety checks to keep our pool safe and enjoyable.
Your organizational skills will shine as you assist with payroll duties and coordinate pool schedules. Additionally, you'll contribute to the development and implementation of our Aquatics program's communication and marketing strategies, making this role both dynamic and impactful!
To thrive as the Aquatic Coordinator at the Y, you must bring a blend of essential skills and certifications to the table. A minimum age of 21, along with a high school diploma, is required. Your certified lifeguard status, complete with up-to-date CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications, will ensure the safety of our aquatic patrons. Demonstrating initiative and good judgment is crucial, as is your ability to make independent decisions in a dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key for public speaking engagements and preparing detailed reports.
