Qualifications

• Three years of paid full-time registration experience in a public aquarium or zoo.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Marine or Aquatic Biology or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of AZA standards and animal recordkeeping practices.
• Experience with animal databases, permits, and staff training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Steinhart Aquarium Institutional Recordkeeping Program with detailed, retrievable records.
• Oversee animal transactions, births, deaths, and transfers; manage database accuracy.
• Train and onboard new staff to recordkeeping systems and standards.
• Coordinate volunteer recruitment and onboarding; support safety and regulatory compliance.
