Job summary

The University of Southern Mississippi seeks an Aquaculture Technician II for the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, MS. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Marine Science, Coastal Sciences, Biology, Marine Biology, Botany, or comparable discipline.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • OR Associate degree in biology, chemistry, aquaculture, fisheries, engineering, or related field with three years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain recirculating aquaculture systems.
  • Collect, prepare, and maintain field and laboratory equipment, specimens, and data.
  • Rear larvae and seed for stock enhancement and commercial scale grow out.
  • Manage broodstock, larval husbandry, health management, and system operations.
  • Work under supervision and interact with faculty, staff and students on projects.
