Job summary

Riverence Provisions in Idaho is seeking a Fish Health Technician to support biosecurity and proactive health management for trout and salmon. You will monitor on-farm conditions, coordinate with a Fish Pathologist, and collect samples for diagnostic testing.

The role includes performing necropsies, conducting microbiological assays, applying treatments in compliance with laws, maintaining records, and advising staff on biosecurity and health improvement plans.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fish husbandry and aquaculture practices.
• Knowledge of fish diseases and necropsy procedures.
• Knowledge of standard microbiology assays for finfish pathogens.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose infectious disease and factors affecting trout and salmon health.
• Perform necropsies and collect tissue samples for pathogen testing.
• Support annual fish health management planning and health objectives.
• Monitor farm performance data to identify health threats and improvements.
• Apply therapeutics in compliance with laws and best practices.
• Maintain records of aquaculture drug use and biosecurity measures.
