Job description

Pay Range

This range is provided by South Suburban Park and Recreation District. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — discuss with your recruiter for details.

Base pay range

$24.15/hr - $27.00/hr

Position Details

This is a part-time, ongoing recruitment process with no fixed closing date. Immediate openings are available at Buck Recreation Center and Goodson Recreation Center for various classes and times, with opportunities for substitution.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead safe, effective, and enjoyable group fitness classes for participants of various fitness levels.
• Create a positive, motivating environment to help participants improve their health and fitness.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in fitness instruction, especially in specialty classes.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of exercise science, nutrition, and wellness.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of fitness programming principles and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Group Fitness Certification from an accepted national certifying organization, with ongoing Continuing Education Credits.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
