THOR Solutions in Panama City, FL is seeking an Engineering Technician with electrical and mechanical experience to support APU refurbishment for the Defense Logistics Agency. This temporary, full‑time onsite role runs May–October 2024 and requires handling electrical/mechanical diagnostics, assembly, testing, and calibration.

The candidate will read engineering drawings, perform corrosion removal, soldering, and testing to ensure compliance with MIL‑STD and military standards, with DoD Secret

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4–9 years of electrical or mechanical assembly, testing and repair experience.
  • Experience with power supplies, voltmeters, thermocouples, pipe fittings, soldering, and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of MIL‑STD procedures and military manufacturing standards.
  • Formal soldering training/certification such as J‑STD‑001 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Assemble, test, and calibrate circuit cards with thermocouples and related equipment.
  • Clean, corrosion remove, and seal tanks; modify prototypes under direction.
  • Read wiring diagrams and drawings for modifications or expansions.
  • Conduct electrical and hydrostatic testing and document results.
