Job summary

TurbineAero in Chandler, AZ is seeking an APU mechanic to perform maintenance, overhaul and repair operations on APU units using appropriate tooling and shop procedures.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of mechanical experience, aerospace/manufacturing background, possess basic hand tools, and be able to read manuals, document findings, and follow OEM instructions; FAA records and safety rules apply.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years mechanical experience involving similar equipment processes, measuring tools and assembly operations.
• 1-3 years prior Aerospace/manufacturing experience.
• Must possess the necessary hand tools to perform position responsibilities
• Basic knowledge of Gas Turbine Engines

Responsibilities

• Tear down, inspect, and rebuild APU under general supervision.
• Clean parts and assemblies as required.
• Prepare documentation, including findings and test data.
• Assemble equipment as required by OEM maintenance manuals and work instructions.
• Light painting and touch up of assemblies as required.
• Perform balance operations as required.
• Make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals and work instructions.
• May prepare reports and suggest improvements from data collected.
• Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
• Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
• Maintain FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.
• Follow all company policies including safety instructions.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote good housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
