Job summary

TAT Technologies Greensboro site serves as the Center of Excellence for APU and landing gear MRO services, offering maintenance and asset management solutions for commercial and military aircraft worldwide.

We are looking for a qualified APU Assembly Technician to perform assembly, testing, and related tasks. The role requires high mechanical aptitude, adherence to technical manuals, and the ability to work both independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with Honeywell 331 series APU preferred.
• Technical school courses in auto/diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience.
• Experience in turbine engine overhaul or engine component overhaul required.
• FAA A&P license or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and handle LRUs, components, parts, and tools.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, rework, paint, package as assigned.
• Read maintenance manuals and technical data to determine methods.
• Replace or repair damaged engine parts using appropriate tools.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and proper tool/FOD control.
• Complete work orders and BOMs, input data in ERP system.
• Read and understand FAA, EASA, and ISO documentation.
• Operate and service specialized equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

TAT Technologies' Greensboro site serves as the company's Center of Excellence for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and landing gear MRO services, as well as aircraft component leasing solutions. Supporting commercial and military aircraft operators worldwide, the site provides integrated maintenance and asset management solutions that maximize fleet availability, reduce downtime, and improve operational performance.

TAT Technologies is looking for qualified APU Assembly Technician. APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running. The following is a list of job duties that an APU Assembly Technician will perform:

• Responsible for the assembly, testing, and travelers related to LRUs, components, parts and tools.
• Secondary responsibilities consist of disassembly, cleaning, analytical inspection, rework schemes, painting, packaging, and other duties as assigned.
• Read and interprets maintenance manuals, or other technical data to determine the feasibility and method to perform the assigned task.
• Replaces or repairs damaged or worn engine parts and component parts using general hand tools, special tools, pneumatic tools and precision measuring equipment. Assembles components with same tools and equipment.
• Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.
• Accurately complete work orders, BOMs, data inputs within ERP system.
• Reads and understands Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentations and other related materials.
• Operates, maintains and services specialized equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED minimum.
• Experience in Honeywell 331 series APU’s preferred.
• Technical school courses in auto or diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience required and must have a strong aptitude for acquiring new mechanical skills and knowledge.
• Experience in turbine engine overhaul or engine component overhaul required.
• FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks.
• Ability to locate, read and follow the technical data appropriate for the assigned task.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
