Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join the IMED - Extenders team.

The role provides expert nursing care within the specialty, including collaboration with physicians, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and guiding patient care plans. The candidate should hold a Florida APRN license with ACLS and CPR certification and have an MSN degree.

Qualifications

• State of Florida APRN license; ACLS and CPR certifications required.
• MSN or higher in Nursing.
• At least 1 year APRN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as an advanced practitioner within the respective nursing specialty.
• Provides consultation on nursing practice and patient outcomes; collaborates with physician, orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Reviews admission data to determine the level of care per hospital criteria; coordinates referrals and resources.
• Interdisciplinary treatment planning participation; provides guidance to team during patient care conferences.
• Documents patient histories, examinations, assessment and plans per unit policy; ensures safe care and education on admission.
• Promotes infection prevention practices and maintains safe unit environment; participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Assists in evaluating staff competency and reports findings to Unit Director.
