Job summary

Community Hospital is seeking a PRN APRN for the Emergency Department to provide direct nursing care and coordinate patient treatment in collaboration with the health care team.

The APRN will assess and plan care, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and patient safety goals while contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Active APRN license in Oklahoma.
• Emergency or ICU experience required.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in the Emergency Department per policies and standards.
• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and health care team as a unified unit.

The Emergency Department APRN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the APRN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans. Always works as a team member within the entire facility.Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Provides care to patients in the emergency room according to policy and procedure and care standards.
• Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes, and anticipated complications.
• Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
• Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest.
• Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.

Qualifications:

• Current APRN Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
• Previous experience required.
• Minimum of one year experience in Emergency or ICU preferred.
• BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire.ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire.
