Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner CNS in Chicago’s Lakeview area for a hospital-based role with prescriptive authority. 40 hours weekly, flexible start times, with (5) 8-hour or (4) 10-hour shifts. Pay range $51.05–$76.60 per hour.

Opportunity to contribute to clinical leadership and education within Nursing Staff Development. Qualified candidates will hold an APRN-CNS with CNS certification, Illinois APRN and RN licenses, and DEA eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s of Nursing Degree as APRN-CNS
• 2 years RN experience preferred
• 1 year APRN-CNS experience in the relevant setting preferred
• Current Illinois APRN License
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Eligible for DEA registration; Possession of DEA within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Completes accurate comprehensive history and physical assessments
• Orders, conducts, supervises, and interprets diagnostic studies
• Prescribes treatments, including medications, diet, devices
• Implements prevention strategies for acute and chronic health problems
• Provides clear information in the medical record
• Develops a care plan with patient and team
• Meets billing and productivity metrics where applicable
• Provides education to patients and families using standard materials
• Works with interdisciplinary team for resource-conscious care delivery
• Mentors others in research and protocol implementation
