As a senior individual contributor in a front-office environment, you will drive the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, low-latency market data pipelines and services across Commodities asset classes (Energy, Metals, Agriculture) with cross-asset touchpoints in FX, Rates, and Equities. You will partner directly with Front Office Traders, Model Quantitative Analysis (MQA / Quants), Market Risk, and Operations teams to build scalable solutions and integrate next-generation Generative AI and Agentic AI workflows into the development and trading lifecycle., 1. System Engineering & Architecture
- Architect, build, and optimize scalable, resilient, and high-throughput market data engines, curve builders, pricing integration layers, and real-time distribution services.
- Design and implement clean, modular APIs and event-driven architectures leveraging modern design patterns across Java, Python, or .NET (C#) ecosystems.
- Ensure ultra-reliable delivery of tick, end-of-day, and historical market data feeds to quantitative pricing libraries and trading applications.
- Act as a direct technical partner to Front Office trading desks, understanding business drivers and rapidly translating complex trading/pricing requirements into production-ready software.
- Collaborate closely with MQA (Quantitative Analysts) to integrate pricing models, risk calculators, and real-time analytics.
- Champion the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks within the software development lifecycle (e.g., automated code reviews, synthesis, workflow orchestration, agent-driven monitoring/troubleshooting).
- Prototype and evaluate agentic workflows for automated anomaly detection, market data quality validation, and intelligent developer tooling.
- Drive engineering best practices: test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD pipelines, containerization, comprehensive observability, and low-latency performance tuning.
- Take end-to-end ownership of delivery-from requirement analysis and technical design to deployment, production monitoring, and support.
Technical Competencies
- Core Programming: Advanced proficiency in at least one primary backend language: + Java (Modern Java, Spring Boot, concurrency, low-latency tuning, GC optimization), OR + Python (Modern Python, asynchronous programming, NumPy/Pandas, FastAPI), OR + .NET / C# (Modern .NET Core, multi-threading, asynchronous I/O, memory profiling).
- Distributed Systems & Messaging: Strong experience with enterprise messaging and streaming frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, ZeroMQ, or gRPC).
- Data Storage & Analytics: Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and time-series/caching technologies (e.g., Redis, InfluxDB, KDB+/q, or similar).
- Modern DevOps & Cloud: Practical experience with Git, CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub , Tekton, Jenkins), Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, and Linux operating systems.
- AI Tooling & Automation: Demonstrated familiarity with LLMs, GenAI tools, and Agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, MCP tools, automated coding agents) applied to engineering productivity or domain solutions.
- Financial Services Experience: Proven track record working within a Tier-1 investment bank, hedge fund, or major financial institution.
- Asset Class Expertise: Strong domain knowledge in Commodities (Power, Gas, Oil, Metals, Agriculture) or adjacent cross-asset products (FX, Rates, Equities).
- Market Data Fundamentals: Understanding of real-time market data structures, tick data, exchange connectivity, forward curves, volatilities, and reference data feeds., Self-Driven & High Ownership: A true "go-getter" who takes proactive ownership of complex engineering problems with minimal supervision.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with traders, MQA, risk managers, and technology leaders.
- Problem-Solving & Agility: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes Front Office environment where requirements evolve rapidly.
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
