Job summary

Hoisting & Portable Engineers, Local 4, Apprenticeship & Training Fund invites applications for its 2026-2027 apprenticeship period. Applications are by appointment only and are limited to individuals meeting the program's criteria.

Applicants must reside within Local 4's jurisdiction (eastern Massachusetts and parts of NH and ME) and be capable of performing the work. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, social security card, and eligibility under the immigration act are required.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Capable of performing the work of the trade.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reside within the jurisdiction of Local 4; (eastern Massachusetts, 5 easterly counties of New Hampshire, state of Maine).

• Be a citizen or otherwise meet the requirements of the immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Must have a driving record that won’t prohibit you from obtaining a CDL license.
• Have a valid motor vehicle driver’s license in your possession.
• Have an Social Security card in your possession.
• Have an appointment scheduled through our office.

Each year at this time we notify appropriate agencies and interested parties regarding our application period.

Applications are done by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Walk-ins will not be allowed.

Requirements to apply

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Capable of performing the work of the trade.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reside within the jurisdiction of Local 4; (eastern Massachusetts, 5 easterly counties of New Hampshire, state of Maine).
