Job summary

Magna is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot and repair plant facilities and production equipment. You will perform welding-related repairs, operate a forklift, and participate in preventive maintenance programs while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires basic electrical knowledge, familiarity with Fanuc controls, and the use of hand and power tools. You will work with multiple shifts and adhere to MIOSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of welding and Fanuc controls.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Able to perform minor weld technology tasks and spot adjustments.
• Licensed to operate a forklift.
• Knowledge of lock out / tag out procedures.
• Familiarity with 5S and TPM activities.
• Basic electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Meaning (GMAW, GMAB, Spot, DAS, GTAW)Assists in the implementation and improvements of effective preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion.Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.Complete all work in accordance with MIOSHA standards.Complete correspondence, forms and reports using computer and required software.Maintain department reports, PSW’s and shift summary.Handle confidential information on a regular basis.To work in a safe, quality minded and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled.Carry out assigned workloads as directed by shift leader or designee.Communicates with manager’s, Weld Tech leader and other plant personnel about welding concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required.Works with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.Complies with, supports and models CBAM’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.Complies with relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.
