Job Description

Purpose:

The Apprentice Service Technician must be a graduate of an automotive technician training school. The apprentice is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned by his/her team leader.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The apprentice technician is assigned a Mentor, usually a Master Technician, to assist in acclimating to dealership operations, share technical knowledge, and provide necessary guidance.
2. Perform work as outlined on repair orders.
3. Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs.
4. Consult with your Mentor, Team Leader, or Shop Foreman when questions or assistance are needed.
5. Examine vehicles to determine if additional service work is recommended.
6. Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
7. Keep updated with factory technical bulletins.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a recognized automotive technical training program.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Ability to perform duties safely.
• Ability to pass background checks, MVR, and drug tests.

Additional Information:

The Apprentice Technician is guaranteed a minimum monthly income during the apprenticeship period. Tuition reimbursement assistance is included.
