Mckinney Trailers in Irving, TX is seeking an Apprentice Technician responsible for preventive maintenance and minor trailer repairs under supervision. Primary duties include DOT/FMCSA inspections, light welding, brake and body repairs, with no major mechanical work.
You will learn to identify maintenance needs, log repair hours, and advance toward a Level II Mechanic, working under safety standards and with customers and supervisors.

The Apprentice Technician position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance procedures and minor repairs on semi-truck trailers with proper training and supervision. The primary responsibility is to perform DOT/FMCSA inspections under supervision, and minor repairs not requiring diagnostic analysis. Such procedures/repairs include Federal Highway Inspections, light welding, brake repair, and minor body repairs. This employee will not perform any major mechanical or structural repair work.

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or two years verifiable equipment maintenance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
Valid driver’s license issued in state of employment.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
