Job summary

Kaydon Group is seeking an Apprentice Structured Cabling Installer to work under the Lead Installer, gaining hands-on training and building basic skills in low voltage infrastructure.

You will assist with site installations of Category 6/6A and fiber optic cabling, plus related hardware in commercial environments, while learning safety practices and standard installation procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of electrical experience preferred.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills.
• Familiar with electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Comfortable with electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to take direction and follow all safety protocols.
• Must have reliable transportation as travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Installing field devices (modular jacks, plates, terminal blocks, patch panels, racks, cable management, etc.)
• Troubleshooting systems and electronics
• Assist in pulling low voltage cable and various wiring
• Installing cable in new and retrofit commercial construction environments
• Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
• Additional duties as assigned

Job description

The Apprentice Structured Cabling Installer works under the observation of the Lead Installer, building basic skills and gaining additional experience and responsibilities through hands‑on training. Assists with project site installation and service of Category 6, Category 6A, fiber optic cabling and other low voltage system technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
