Job summary

Kaydon Group is seeking an Apprentice Security Installer in Canton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will install and service various security systems, including CCTV and fire alarms, while gaining hands-on experience.

The ideal candidate will have some electrical experience, basic skills, and comfortable working with electrical testing equipment. Reliable transportation is required as travel is part of the job.

Qualifications

• One year of electrical experience preferred.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills required.
• Familiar with electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install field devices (cameras, alarm devices, card readers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot systems and electronics.
• Assist in pulling low voltage cable and wiring.

Job description

The Apprentice Security Installer works under the observation of the Lead Installer, building basic skills and gaining additional experience and responsibilities through hands-on training. Assists with project site installation and service of security, access control, fire alarm, CCTV and integration technology.

Responsibilities:

• Installing field devices (cameras, alarm devices, card readers, etc.)
• Troubleshooting systems and electronics
• Assist in pulling low voltage cable and various wiring
• Installing cable in new and retrofit commercial construction environments
• Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
• Additional duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

• One year of electrical experience preferred
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills
• Familiar with electrical schematics and blueprints
• Comfortable with electrical testing equipment
• Ability to take direction and follow all safety protocols
• Must have reliable transportation as travel is required
