Job summary

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration in De Forest, WI invites an aspiring Unit Installer (Apprentice Refrigeration Technician) to join our team. You will assist senior technicians in repairing refrigeration units and APUs, while performing preventive maintenance at shop and customer locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own set of hand tools and basic pneumatic/battery tools (impact driver, cordless drill).
• 2+ years' experience in refrigeration, diesel, mechanical or maintenance shop beneficial.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Able to pass DOT physical upon offer of employment.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs frequently throughout a workday.
• Ability to stand 6–8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Work with a Senior Technician performing repairs of refrigeration units and APUs in shop and at customer sites.
• Perform all levels of Preventative Maintenance and identify warranty repairs.
• Identify components needing repair or replacement.
• Place parts orders through the parts department as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions and inform customer of required repairs.
• Document warranty repairs on the repair order.
• Log all repair orders in the Karmak system for work orders and billing.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
